Ok, so I’ve been extremely lazy when it comes to writing these blog posts (the last one was before Christmas!), so I thought I’d write what will probably be a brief one on what I’ve been up to lately.
I finally got letters form City of Bristol College and St. Brendans informing me that I had been given conditional offers to the courses I applyed for. It took a long time for me to decide where I wanted to go. Intially St. Brendans had been my first choice. A Levels would be what I’d be studying there and that is a much more academic route than the BTEC courses on offer at CoB. However St. Brns was much farther to travel and would involve an hour to get there every morning. Coupled with a terrible impression they gave me at interview, I decided to reject the placement.
That, however, still left two places to decide over at City of Bristol; Art and Design or Graphic Design. Both courses were the same length (3 day week plus extra time to complete projects), and both offered things that interested me. Originally I like the Graphic Design course the most (as that is the career path I would like to go into), but after the interview for Art and Design my thoughts changed entirely. I was shown the studios and work of students and the options on the course sounded ideal. I was still to interview for the Graphic Design course though, and my mind may be changed again.
I got the date for my interview about two weeks after the Art and Design course, and I was sure my mind was made up. Still, I went along not expecting much. I was first out of all of the interviewees to arrive and be greeted by my possible new tutor and teacher, Pascal (who is rather hot). When the others arrived a presentation was given and I knew then that my mind was changed again. After the interview was over I was certain that this was the course I wanted to do, and when the letter arrived I accepted the placement.
(I’m not doing this in chronological order by the way).
The two weeks before the Christmas holidays were the mock exams. Everyone pretended not to give a shit, but secretly I think everyone did. The two weeks of solid exam, after exam, after exam were intense but were also kinda nice as we stayed at home in between. A few weeks back we finally got our results and the whole year did utterly terrible. Pretty much everyone got below target, forcing the English department to set up (FINA-FUCKING-LY). Monday shall be the first lesson we are set in and I have to say I am quite excited
THE FAG AND HAG ARE IN THE SAME CLASS!
Other than that I haven’t been up to much. Tor and I have been doing The Fag And Hag Show. I’ve been reading quite a bit lately. Completed Microserfs by Douglas Coupland, and I’m currently reading Memoirs Found in a Bathtub by Stainslaw Lem (St-hanees-lav Lem).
I promise to write more frequent,
Toodles x
